这里展出的一部分是耕整地工具有耖、木榔头、踏犁和一些掘土用的镢类工具。在平整好的田地后，就需要开始播种。这里还展示了一些播种工具。

　　西汉武帝时发明的耧车，是北方旱地最主要的播种农具，它有独脚耧、二脚耧、三脚耧、五脚耧等多种类型。耧车的主要部件耧斗、输种管、耧脚和耧铧组成。用耧车播种，一头牛牵引耧车，一人扶耧，种子盛在耧斗中，耧斗与空心的耧脚相通，耧铧开沟。种子通过耧车的摇动，自然地从耧斗流入输种管，再通过耧脚落在开好沟中。它能同时完成开沟、下种、覆土三道工序。一次播种三行，行距一致，下种均匀，大大提高了播种效率和质量。

　　这里还展示了北方的播种农具点葫芦、砘车等。

　　南方的播种移栽农具——秧马。秧马是水稻秧田中拔秧时乘坐的器具。发明于北宋以前。从发明之后，一直在民间流传，至今没有间断。秧马是由农家的四足凳发展而来，四足凳下安装一块前端上翘的木块。使用时，人坐在秧马上，上身向前倾，如果要前行，人的两脚和臀部向前拱一下，秧马就向前滑行。这样大大减轻劳动强度，提高了劳动效率。

　　Invented in the period of Wu Emperor of West Han Dynasty, louche is the main sowing tool in dry farmland of the north. It has many types, including single foot, double-foot, triple foot and five-foot, etc. Its main parts include lou dipper, seed transporting pipe, lou foot and louhua. The louche is pulled by cattle at one end and held by a person at the other end. The seeds are stored in the lou dipper, which is connected to hollow lou foot. Louhua is used to open ditches. Through shake of louche, the seeds naturally flow into seed transporting pipe and fall into the opened ground through lou foot. It can finish three procedures, including ditch opening, sowing and soil covering at the same time. It can sow three rows at one time. The distance between each row is the same. The seeds are well distributed. Therefore, the efficiency and quality of sowing have been greatly improved.

　　Here are sowing tools of the north, including the sowing calabash and duzi, etc.

　　Here is the sowing and plant moving tool of south China—seedling horse, which is a sitting tool when seedlings are pulled up in the paddy field. It was invented before North Song Dynasty. Since its invention, it has been widely spread by the people. Seedling horse evolves from four-leg stool of farming family. A raising woodblock is installed beneath the four-leg stool. People sit on the seedling horse and lean forward the upper body. If they want to move forward, they will move forward their feet and hip. In this way, the seedling horse will glide forward. Therefore, the intensity of labor is greatly reduced and efficiency of labor is greatly improved.
